Mysteries that dwell in the mind
and whisper to the spirit ...
As long as I can remember, I've loved English mysteries. I love their customs, the landscape, English history, folk music and the villages. I wanted to write books that incorporate as many of these elements as possible.
The Taylor & Graham series uses English customs as the backbone of the plots and take place in different villages.
The McLaren Series: Folk music is a large feature in this series, the main character sings in a folk group when he isn't investigating cold murder cases!
These two series weave all my passions together and, hopefully, have produced interesting mysteries for the reader. here to add text.
I
It would never have dawned on me to write
a mystery had my husband not left me for another woman (his mother). Ticked me off. So I wrote "Murder in the Movies" and murdered his rearend. Great therapy. Named all of his girlfriends by their real names, too. The murder house is our old house in Seal Beach, CA. Actually the ex-husband and I will probably never go on a fishing trip together, but we're buddies. After a fashion. I loved writing the book and I love the fact a publisher saw fit to release it. I don't often lose my temper, so I don't have a designated next victim; not sure when my next mystery will be written.
I wrote "Dear Dean...Love, Mom" about another kind of mystery: The mystery of life and death. After my son Dean died I realized that I was being shown more of both-life and death- than I could ever have imagined. The book is proof positive that life and love are eternal. The matext.
